Ling Sounds

The ling sounds are speech sounds that can be detected on an audiogram. A person with a hearing loss needs to detect these sounds in order to have speech and vocalizations. These six sounds all fall into the speech banana. The ling sounds are: /00/ as in ghost, /s/ as in snake, /m/ as in mmmm good!, /sh/ as in quiet, /ee/ as in squeak said the mouse, /ah/ as in the sound of an airplane flying. It is recomended to do the ling sounds to check for detection and discrimination of speech with and without amplification.
